Privacy Policy
Calciq is built to do as little as possible with your data. Here is exactly what we collect and why.

What we collect
We collect as little as the app can function with. Our servers store an anonymous user identifier issued by Sign in with Apple, a per-user, per-month count of how many AI queries you have made, and, if you subscribe to Calciq Pro, a record of your subscription status. The identifier enforces your monthly AI allowance and your plan's features; it cannot be used to identify you personally. No query text is retained once a response has been returned. We also record anonymous, content-free usage counters (for example, how many installs completed the setup tour), keyed to a random identifier that is not connected to your Apple identifier or your queries.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your name, email address, or any contact information. We do not collect your calculation history or the content of your queries, and we do not collect location data. There is no advertising and no third-party analytics.
Subscriptions
Calciq Pro is purchased through Apple. Apple processes the payment; we never see your payment details. To unlock Pro on your devices, our servers keep a record of your subscription status (the plan, its expiry date, and an Apple transaction reference) tied to your anonymous identifier. When a subscription ends, the record expires with it.
On-device storage
Your calculation history is stored locally on your device only. It is never transmitted to our servers.
AI queries
When a query falls outside Calciq's built-in parser, it is sent to our backend and forwarded to an AI model through an AI gateway. Query text is processed in memory to generate a response and is not stored or logged by us. Third-party AI providers may apply their own data handling policies.
Sign in with Apple
Calciq uses Sign in with Apple to gate AI queries and to recognize your Pro subscription across devices. Apple's privacy-preserving authentication means our servers receive only an opaque user identifier, never your email. If you choose to share your name at sign-in, it is kept on your device only, to label your account in Settings, and is never sent to our servers.
Data retention
Your anonymous query count resets at the start of each calendar month and is permanently deleted if you stop using the app. Subscription records expire when the subscription ends. There is no account to delete. Sign in with Apple can be revoked at any time from your Apple ID settings.
Children's privacy
Calciq does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The app contains no advertising and no social features.
